SQ3R
SQ3R is a comprehension strategy that gives students a purpose for reading by having them create questions to answer while they read. SQ3R stands for survey, question, read, recite, and review. It is a high-level demand strategy, but comprehension does increase through it. The purpose for the SQ3R is to increase and develop comprehension while reading.
"SQ3R allows students to be aware of a purpose for reading, overview the text, read selectively, and review what is read." Miller, M., & Veatch, N. (2011). |
